Hello World! Hard Rock Cafe

Hello World! Time for some food, fun, and friends at the Boston Hard Rock Cafe. I spent a great evening out with some KSC friends and family.  Among the talented Berklee performers taking the stage were Tony Ni Evans and  Jace.

Thanks for checking in!

Hello World! A Million Dreams…

creative-smartphone-notebook-typography.jpg

Hello World!

The other day I had the chance to talk with musician Tony Ni Evans about blogging.  Tony is currently studying at Berklee in Boston (Check out his video Born Under City Lights ). He patiently listened to me and gave some pointers.  Best of all Tony told me to EMBRACE who I am.   I am currently obsessed with The Greatest Showman.  I have been “singing” it around the house.  The idea of  “A Million Dreams” is definitely part of me. I have loads of ideas!   I think MidCentury Eclectic may sum it up too.  My aunt just calls me “spunky”.

Anyway if you have not seen the movie or listened to the music for The Greatest Showman what are you waiting for?

Hello World!  My first “guest” photo is from Austin, Texas.  Richard and Linda recently enjoyed a stop at the Broken Spoke (a legendary Austin Honky Tonk) on their road trip from the 603 to AZ. Tracie Lynn was the performer that evening.

Hello World! Early Musical Memories

IMG_1937.jpg

Hello World! I have always loved music. As a very young child, I remember hearing Jesus Christ Superstar and Johnny Cash. My first musical purchase was a 45 (a little record with a big hole). I chose The Beatles (Penny Lane) and my brother picked out an Elvis 45 at Sears. I remember my stepgrandmother’s 78 (a little bigger record with a smaller hole) … Purple People Eater.  Speaking of purple, does anyone remember Donny Osmond’s purple socks? The Grease soundtrack was my first album. That was the best birthday present ever, along with a lime green beanbag chair. Oh yeah! Many hours were spent in that bean bag “singing” along with The Eagles and Billy Joel.   I  even had a bargain bin Bruce Springsteen 8 track. In school there was one cool teacher who would play Pink Floyd.. we don’t need no education…! I was an MTV child. U2, Madonna, Bon Jovi, and Van Halen videos helped shape my musical experience. My cassette collection included Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, and Boston. I was country too, when country wasn’t cool (Alabama) and played some folk (Dave Mallett). I could write volumes about my early musical loves but I think you have the idea.  My taste in music continues to be eclectic (rock, pop, musicals, country, folk, alternative, and a whole lot of artists that should have more mainstream success). Now I download music and put on my blue tooth Beats. I check out bands on YouTube and social media. No more waiting by the radio for a favorite song to come on. Music is just a click away!
